It’s like looking into your neighbor’s yard and laughing hysterically

Great post at Keep Your Sox On this morning:

Losing by 16 runs in a must-win game doesn’t look that [great] to me buddy. The Yankees embarrassed themselves, beat up their own bullpen and plopped behind the Sox a full 8 games.

Here’s the best part: The Sox play the first of three games in NY tonight, with Dice-K on the mound. A sweep in NY would put “…the while lily on New York’s season.”

Amen.

I would that to be the Red Sox right now. Or ever, really. I’m guessing the Yankee bats will knock the ketchup right out of Schilling’s sock.

hate, not ‘that’

I would hate to be the red sox, sorry I was caught up in the moment

Whit - I’ll take that bet. I’ll say the Sox take at least two of three.

Yeah, the Yanks will win one game, prob. the 1st., just on adrenaline. After that, it’s over.

Na-na-na-na…na-na-na-na…heyyyyyyyy…goooooodbyeeeeeeee….

Man, I hope such an obvious showing of poor judgment doesn’t ruin your street cred with other readers.

How about a little wager? Something free, humiliating and blog-related of course.

You got yourself a deal, my friend.

When the Sox win 2 of 3, you must leave this video of Big Papi beating the Yankess in game 5 of the 2004 ALCS as the top post on your blog for a week:

The Yanks will take ONE game tops. No way 2. The worst the Sox will come out of this series is ahead in the East by 7 games. The death of Rizzuto really was a turning point in the season for the Yankees. They have not been the same since.

Oh, it’s on. I’m trying to find that special something to decorate Daddy Daze for a week. It’s really hard to find Yankee/Red Sox clips without heavy cursing. Go figure.

Oh, Whit, the answer is easy! In fact, I’m so confident, I’ll even point out the obvious punishment to you.

If the Yanks win two or three of the games, I’ll post the video of Bill Buckner dropping the ball in the 1986 World Series against the Mets. It’s the most reviled moment in Red Sox history.

Dave - that’s an offer that can only be treated with a response worthy of Phil Rizzuto himself: Holy Cow!

I was looking for something a little more Yankeeish, but if that makes you squirm…

I guess it’s better than a week of Fever Pitch clips.

The best clip (besides, of course the Buckner one) would have been Bucky F’in Dent’s HR - in keeping with the whole Sox/MFY theme

But, I will laugh heartily when I visit Whit every day.

Maybe someone (with more time than me) can compile a whole video of Yankees faux pas during that series - the home run, Slappy whacking Bronson’s glove, etc - and then title the whole montage - Meltdown or something similar
